Assassin's Creed stands as an expansive gaming franchise in the realms of open-world, action-adventure, and stealth genres. Ubisoft, the publisher, primarily entrusts the development to its studio, Ubisoft Montreal, utilizing the Anvil game engine and its more advanced iterations. Conceived by Patrice Désilets, Jade Raymond, and Corey May, the video game series explores a fictional, age-old conflict between the Order of Assassins advocating for peace and free will, and the Knights Templar seeking peace through order and control. The narrative weaves together historical fiction, science fiction, and fictional characters, intricately entwined with genuine historical events and figures. Throughout most games, players navigate the storyline by assuming the role of a historical Assassin, concurrently experiencing the perspective of an Assassin Initiate or a character entangled in the present-day Assassin–Templar conflict. Recognized as a spiritual successor to the Prince of Persia series, Assassin's Creed drew inspiration from Vladimir Bartol's novel "Alamut," which, in turn, is rooted in the historical Hashashin sect of the medieval Middle East.

Consider: Since Ubi keeps trying to make Witcher 3 clones, imagine a true Assassin’s Creed game actually made by CD Projekt Red?

I’ve never understood the point regarding micro-transactions in Assassin’s Creed games or felt they’re as bad as people make them out to be. I’ve played every Assassin’s Creed game and I’ve never needed to buy anything to enjoy the experience, nor have I felt that skipping purchases limited my enjoyment.

That said, I do agree that the modern-day storyline is dull and unengaging.

In my opinion after AC3 the modern day should have Fallowed William, then once Elijah got old enough the modern day should have fallowed him, like the RPG games would place him at about the same age as his father so he should have taken over as modern day Protagonist instead of Layla

Have no issue with people trying to write a witcher 3 plot. But ubisoft struggles to write basic plots. Though my issue is ubisoft takes assassins creed core of parkour through dense historic cities and tosses it in the trash can, just to try and be a bad copy of other games. Honestly I consider syndicate and unity the last true ac games for this reason. I just wish that one day ubisoft could learn how to write a good story. Or atleast copy paste naughty dogs style of writing knock off movies.

I don't really think AC did much innovation other than parkour and stealth options. Even though the newer games have limited those to some extent, it's not like the games are terrible. After replaying the games again and again, I think people look at the older games and prop them up as the most amazing games when they each have issues. Side content is the biggest problem, and it was so repetitive in the older games for me. Collectibles are all over the place, small events that clutter the map. Old AC had a story and mechanics that differentiate them from other games. Now, they still have fun stories, but people want the most perfect game over and over again. Examples are Syndicate and even Odyssey or Valhalla. The last two RPGs follow different plans with their goals. They aren't even bad games, but because what was before, people hate on them, and then years later, we see videos of Was I too Harsh or this game is Underrated. It happens over and over again, starting with the now overrated Unity.

Sad all these companies just getting greedy and doing the same stuff over and over year after year. Same stuff with BO6. Annoying

ubisoft has never been ground breaking in anything or innovative, they’ve simply adapted the prince of persia game mechanics to assassins creed and farmed a lobotomite fan base that plays anything they pump out for years on end

Too scared to innovate bc the player base bitches ab every single god damn thing. Everything wrong with a game over half the time is the communities fault. Yall love to blame the developers rather than yourselves
