Is this number really blocked since you didn’t pick up the area code. I found in my phone’s manual, that you need to keep pressing the exit button until you have the entire phone number, in fact mine said to include the 1. These calls are probably coming based on the ones I receive some are local and some are not. But also some areas now require you to input an area code even for local next door calls. In my area this happened about 3-4 years ago. You can block any set of numbers, but I’m not sure without the area code, will it actually block the incoming call. It didn’t for me but I have an older Panasonic phone.

Too bad they are 100 steps ahead. It is a random server halfway across the world calling you. The number will change nearly every time. It is also a spoof number on your ID meaning, the number or name you see is a phantom- it is not real. The bad guys can even get around 2-factor authorization which is a very scary proposition. There is a guy in ytube who is an expert on these things- IT. Bottom line- if you are online, you have nearly zero security. In fact, he said, when you use firewalls or other security steps, 2-factor, etc., it simply tips off the bad actors that you have something to hide so they will target you even more. It's like putting a safe in a room they can see. They want that treasure and they can get it. Or putting an alarm company shield on your grass. They don't think like you and me.
