That bank teller who stopped that scam deserves a medal. And yes, we do need to train banks better so they can help stop scams from happening.

I thank you for what you do. I was once scammed very badly 14 years ago! I hope this message goes across the world and people wake up to these filthy scammers!

Yes! Recently I spoke with two bank managers and encouraged them to create colorful, easy-to-read brochures for seniors. They agreed that it is a low-cost, easy method that can also protect the bank. I wish they would also have private conversations with customers too. Saving this link to share with the two bank managers I have spoken with. I intend to reach out to every bank manager of every credit union in my county and the neighboring county. Btw, SP... You inspire me!

100% right! Person to person interaction always works. I stopped my grandmother from being scammed for over 4 grand, by simply asking for the guy to show up and show me why he needed that much to fix her door jam...There are scumbags all over the world...

There should be monthly mandatory briefings for all bank staff, where they're updated on the current biggest scams that are trending, and what to look for. It wouldn't be that difficult to get everybody in for an employee meeting once a month, and there could even be small rewards/accolades for stopping a scam that otherwise would've succeeded.

I worked as a bank manager for Wells Fargo and can tell you that there is much training for tellers, bankers, and managers at that financial institution. We still need PEOPLE…good people, to help stop these scammers. They’re ruining so many futures out there. Seniors are targeted constantly.
The seniors have been “trained/scammed” for the interaction and it takes finesse and compassion to break through to them.

Yeah, that's why I broke up with my girlfriend I've never personally met.. once she dared asked me for money contribution for her Dad with cancer. My principle and golden rule! NEVER send money to anyone you don't personally know or haven't met in person. Unless it's immediate family.. these days can't even trust people we know.. let alone someone we've never met.

When I recently went to the bank to send a wire transfer, the teller asked if I knew the recipient personally. Yes, all his life...he's my younger brother. Appreciated the question and the reason for it. 😊

You’re so right, this message needs to be spread far and wide.
Recently helping my elderly mother with finances. Actually went in to a branch that had not closed down and waiting in the queue listening to all the people who had been scanned. Spoke to the bank teller about this and she said it is like this everyday.

I intervened for an elderly friend, and he got really angry at me. He really believed that some hottie wanted him. I told him no 23 year old hottie wants a 82 year old man for a lover..never.
