FOR THOSE WHO DOESN'T KNOW , WHEN CATS ARE KITTEN , YOU OFTEN SEE THE MOMMA CAT CARRIES HER KITTEN IN THE SAME BITING POSITION , AND WHEN YOU DO THIS, their ingrained instinct triggers , It’s an automatic response wired into their behavior from birth.

It's a leftover instinctual response from when they were kittens. When they get picked up from the scruff by their mom, they basically go limp and don't move so mom can move them without struggling. It's not going to work on all adult cats, but some still have the response.

When i take my large cat to the vet for his medical issues, they use the "clip technique" where they use small clips and clip the scruff of their necks, i was told that its proven to release their calm senses type of thing.

I left my cat’s nails alone because she loved going outdoors. It gave her self defence and a way to escape if she ever needed to climb onto things, sometimes it hurts when she scratches but I rather that then for her to be defenceless

Im a Pet Groomer and it is quite common to hold an unruly cat by the scruff for toenails. It makes them submissive. You don't have to use your mouth though. Hands will do.
