Here’s one thing people don’t know about Yom Kippur that I wish they knew.

ThE rabbis idea got cut off. I am sure that whst he was saying is that it is preferable to keep the fast and refrain from work on Yom Kippur than to go to services IF you would be breaking the fast or violating the work restrictions and going to synagogue. And one of the definitions of work is driving a car.

Rabbi Shais Taub, I have been trying to convert alone. Now, to observe Yom Kippur today, for my first time, should I just not go to work today? Yesterday I did and I definitely felt the consequences of that. Everyone at work did too even though they don’t know the significance of Yom Kippur, (even the stork know the times and seasons- gentile or Jew we all are commanded to obey and observe appointed times are we not?) I feel very convicted to not go to work today. Should I not go to work today? What do you recommend. I have been unable to get this weekend off since the second week of September. Lack of structure and necessary management allows servers to manage the groups as a whole but they make up rules over time and when I mentioned I needed off for Yom Kippur, no body acknowledged that it’s my religious observance and I have a right to that. What should I do?

His message only applies if one is going to drive to synagogue on Shabbos Yom Kippur.

These are the man made traditions Christ came to abolish. Return to God and accept Christ.
