As violinist... the only true violin to play for me is my one violin. Every other violin feels weird. If I have the chance to play on my violin, Id never choose another one. My violin is my one and only. Why would anyone choose the inconvenience of getting used to the feeling of another violin?

I have: 3 trumpets, 2 pianos, 1 fife, and 1 violin, and I am a pianist

I have three:
1- the one I got when I was eight (a gift from my grandma when i was first starting out)
2- the normal concert violin I use
3- an electric one that I use when i need to practice but it’s late (among other reasons)

1 is the first mostly for sentimental reasons, 2 are for practice as at any time one or the other may develop an issue, and 1 is for performance.
That's not even getting into all the tonal variations or slightly different styles.
Not even a musician and these kinds of things make sense.
