when silco confronted marcus about her and vi, he said she's a kiramman and she just does whatever she wants just like them. but she broke the rules to pursue justice like grayson demonstrated to her, not for personal gain and not just like her family. grayson's lesson clearly stuck with her cuz she probably wouldn't have disobeyed orders and gone off to investigate on her own without that in the back of her mind.
i really wish there was more of grayson, i would've loved to see more of her š¢
BUT CAITLYN COULD NEVER BREAK ANY RULE BCUZ SHES PERFECT AND COULD NEVER DO ANY WRONG, OUR BELOVED PILTOVAN QUEE

I feel that we were robbed of a really good and complex character in Grayson. Just think about it: She's the sheriff, but how did she get there? Probably not by being an angel - her path to the position was most likely very different to Caitlyn's future path. But then, at some point something happened and she changed, her character developed and became part of what we glimpse in the show: someone who recognises the importance of peace and healing. An enforcer who came to understand that violence is no way the way forward. Remember that scene when the council tell her to "turn the Undercity upside down if you have to"? The frame focuses more on Marcus but we get to see Grayson's eye, which is enough to show us how terrible she considers that order to be. And how helpless she probably feels as well, because her hands are bound as sheriff; she has to follow the council's orders, if she doesn't she'll lose her job and her only way to exert influence on anything. Her losing her job would also mean that there'd be a new sheriff and she probably knows better than anyone how bad that could end - because there most definitely are enough enforcers that follow the old doctrine of hatred.
Anyways, even in the few scenes we have with her, she's a better (as in more nuanced etc) character than Marcus. I'll never forgive him for betraying her, lol.

Grayson being willing to break the rules for good things is also shown in her handling of Zaun. She deals with Vander, something that would probably have her seen as corrupt, but she does it to make sure no further violence happens, so that the bridge riot doesn't repeat itself because otherwise it will be a massacre.
I realize she mirrors Jayce slightly in this. Both realize that, in a violent confrontation, Topside would win or atleast kill a lot of people. Thus both are willing to negotiate and go behind the council to take action and ensure that peace is kept. Grayson worked with Vander and Jayce negotiated peace with Silco.

I like how its been over a year and theres STILL arcane things to talk about on this channel. Also I want to thank you for uploading consistently and moving on to other topics. It keeps the channel fresh. I also love how you didn't leave this channel alone until season 2 came out. If you know "persona 5" there was a channel I watched that specifically kept up with news on the game and made theories as to how the game would play out. A month before release, they tried to talk about "mass effect". Didn't do nearly as well as the persona 5 videos and they just stopped uploading. It was a shame. I said it before but congrats on 100K. Shoot you almost at 200. Again, thanks for keeping this channel and taking risk. c:

DUUUUUUUUDE!!!!!!!!!!! this is GENIUS!!!!!! You're making me view Grayson and Caitlyn in entirely new ways! And everyone else for that matter?! OMG!!! I never knew everyone's flashbacks were THIS deep and how vital they are to their character arcs!! It blows my mind that they introduce elements each character struggles with in the present! That's INCREDIBLE! your analysis--and the sheer depth of Arcane--ALWAYS blows me away!

The use of a bow and arrow was extremely popular because it got rid of the bravery of fighting. The bow allowed you to kill someone without looking them in the eye. With a sword or mace or other weapon, warriors hard to be strong willed in their cause, to watch a life be taken by your fault. This is ever apparent in arcane with the use of close up weapons. One such event with Jay when the boy dies by his fault. He sees the harms heās really caused and is frightened, mortified. Jay was used to the harm being caused from a distance, he had no connections to the people being harmed. Whether he was aware of the involuntary effect his decisions had, he made them because of the distance. Himerdinger too was able to see this when he went down to the undercity. Katlin, while using a gun, was far from her targets but still held the connection to people, this helped Vi convince her to not kill Jinx. Katlin was aware of the connection to the people. Jinx on the other hand also used guns or blasters, she had no connection to the people even when in close combat. The use of her bombs separated her from seeing the people that she killed, it was her way of keeping herself from falling apart again.
Anyways I think it would be cool if you touched on this subject. Very interesting in its use in other shows and movies. Such as Jedi holding honor with their sabers and losing honor during the clone wars with the fighter jets battles and long range attacks on droids.

I'd like you to take a look at Marcus and Caitlyn's boss-employee relations in chapters 4 and 5 and make a video about it. @schnee
Caitlyn's disobedience to the chain of command, abuse of power and authority, and the fact that Marcus finds her somewhere else when she should be guarding her family's tent. (AGAÄ°N) (This isn't the first time, as Marcus says in episode 4. The fact that Caitlyn is constantly running out of range, no matter how much Marcus pressures her into her duties because she's a Kiramman family member (counsellor's daughter).
Caitlyn's arc is one of the main reasons for the end of Marcus. Caitlyn was an enforcer, not a detective or a spy. Caitlyn abuses her power because she is the council member's daughter.
I haven't seen anyone address this issue in general, but I think it matters.
Like I said, it's kind of an important story for Caitlyn's and Marcus' arc, I think you can make a video about it.

I do love how unrepentant Grayson was.
Yeah, I let you win... because this conversation is more important than your feelings, more important than the competition.
You can shoot, what are you going to do with it?
It's a balsy move, the kind of move a parent would make. It's very in keeping with ARCANE's message of parenthood.
