travel burnout is real, tbh I have a hard time taking time for myself before others in the group start noticing a change in my behavior. I’m less excited about any activity even ones I usually enjoy, less likely to socialize with new ppl or even entertain questions that I would usually playfully banter with, and I even start closing myself off from the group I’m in. I feel alone even though I’m actually surrounded by a group of friends that I know love me and yet I can’t convince myself of it so I begin to close off even more in social situations. It’s been about 3 months since I’ve come back out in my second solo trip and I honestly can’t say I’ve found a good solution for travel burnout at all bc I truly do enjoy spending time with my friends (and fomo is real especially when you’re already splitting your time between work and everything else)!! But I have found that taking myself out to a nice place, especially a new place I’ve never tried gives me the dopamine kick and reassurance I need of being able to stand on my own… which in turns actually makes me more present in group settings.
Phewwwww let’s prioritize down time even while on the go bc you can’t pour from an empty cup and no one wants to deal with your angst not even you💞
