Gibraltarās gunshield runs off of an āindividual damage thresholdā meaning that once your peak damage has broken his shield of 50 HP Any other damage is negated until your next shot is fired.

If you throw an arc star at him and it hits his shield, it will either bounce off or just get completely eaten by the shield with no explosion

Because it's a single shot bullet which means that the shield did his job to deflect the bullet, same as with Brigette'S shield in Overwatch, can't handle too many bullets but it can protect you from Dva's ultimate Blast.
