Richard was a great King, if you can look past the mountain of domestic issues that were either ignored or made worse by him spending most of his reign somewhere else.
As a solider and Christian Crusader, there are few men better than Richard. As an actual King of England, he leaves a lot to be desired.

Sadly he did not make Jerusalem a lasting kingdom nor did he provide England with an heir.. leading to the Magna Carta!
