I've read about gardeners using copper tape and copper mesh to deter slugs and snails, so I'm trying it this year.
The roll wasn't expensive (in my opinion) and it was easy to install.
I'm hoping this will make a difference... but we'll see.
Have you used this method to deal with slugs in your kitchen garden or allotment?

The tape has helped with the slugs as my boxes and pot without the copper tape has had slugs❤

It looks phantastic, but it's much to high. Tape it a second time 10cm lower. And better two tape lines for the big snails. Good luck.

You can just put a piece of wood alongside or on the garden bed that will encourage the slugs* and snails to retreat under when daylight comes, then you just flip the board and voila, your pests waiting for you to give them the boot

Yeah those slugs are going up the inside of the wood and the dirt where it’s damp and cool

My only guess as to why that would be uncomfortable for the slug/snails is maybe the suns heat being conducted by the copper foil? Slugs and snail like staying in wet areas so it might be a gentle deterrent!

If youve ever had a paper cut its nothing compared to what this tape will do. Ouch is an understatement lol gloces were a good idea

cut out the middle so you have 2 strips. Then hook up a 9v battery to it.

My Grandma for years would put a lowered cup of beer to get rid of slugs. It works great.

My mother used to have huge problems with slugs on her veggies and she tried many, many methods. Like you, she doesn't want to kill or hurt them, just deter them from her vegetables.
Anyway, she found this copper band a few years ago and she was amazed by how well it kept the slugs at bay. She has stopped looking for new methods and only uses this now every year. Hope it works as well for you!
