The new Hyundai Creta was unveiled in India on February 6 at the Auto Expo 2020
The popularity of the Hyundai Creta 2020 can be gauged from the fact that the Second generation suv garnered more than 10,000 bookings within a week. With the number of queries we have received about the new Creta, we are pretty sure that it will be a hit just like the outgoing model. As for the powertrain, the new Hyundai Creta uses 1.5-litre petrol, 1.5-litre diesel and a 1.4-litre turbocharged petrol as the Kia Seltos.
The Creta will be offered with BS6 compliant petrol and diesel engine options. The standard petrol motor is a 1.5-litre producing 112bhp/144Nm and can be had with a CVT or a six-speed manual. The more exciting petrol motor is a 1.4-litre Turbo GDi unit producing 138bhp/242Nm and is only being offered with a seven-speed DCT. The sole diesel on offer is a 1.5-litre four-cylinder unit producing 113bhp/250Nm and can be had with a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic.
The new Creta is one feature-rich suv . Hyundai Motor India has left no stone unturned to make the 2020 Creta look more attractive than the outgoing model. While the exterior has been completely refurbished, there are some spectacular additions to the cabin. Talking about the exterior updates first, you will notice a new 3D cascading grille in the Creta 2020. There are new trio-beam LED headlamps with boomerang-shaped LED DRLs. The taillamps are LED units as well. Other exterior features include roof rails, twin-tip exhaust, automatic ORVMs and 17-inch diamond cut alloy wheels.
On stepping inside the Cabin of the second generation Creta, you will notice new features like 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 7-inch instrument panel with digital display and panoramic sunroof. Also available are features like wireless phone charger, front and rear USB charger, TPMS, cooled glove box, LED reading lamps and 2-step reclining rear seat. It also features the Blue link connectivity technology.
It is available in five variants: E, EX, S, SX, and SX(O)
The new Creta 2020 is available in 10 colour options, including a couple of dual-tone paint schemes. The colour options are Lava Orange, Polar White, Typhoon Silver, Red Mulberry, Titan Grey, Deep Forest, Galaxy Blue, Phantom Black, Polar White with Phantom Black and Lava Orange with Phantom Black.
The new Creta 2020 measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,790 mm in width, 1,635 mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,610 mm.
The Hyundai Creta is the most successful car in the segment since it was launched in 2015 and took the segment by a storm thanks to its combination of powerful engines and strong feature list. It’s a rival to the likes of the kia seltos, Nissan kicks,as well as cars like the MG hector and tata harrier.
The 2020 Hyundai Creta price in India is priced between Rs. 9.99 lakh for the base diesel variant and it goes up to Rs. 17.20 lakh for the range-topping model (both prices, ex-showroom). The 1.4-litre turbo petrol is offered only in SX and SX (O) variants at Rs. 16.16 lakh and Rs. 17.20 lakh (ex-showroom) respectively.
The MG ZS based SUV is now available as the Astor. At the time of launch, the Astor will be the first model in the company’s global portfolio to debut with the industry-first personal AI assistant system. This technology is powered by i-Smart Hub and it is capable of depicting human-like emotions, voices, and giving out detailed information via Wikipedia.
Additionally, the upcoming SUV will also be equipped with the Autonomous Level-2 system. This technology uses mid-range radars and a multi-performance camera to offer a wide range of advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS). It is believed that the technology has been designed for Indian conditions.
The vehicle was last showcased at the 2020 Auto Expo. In the international market, the MG Astor is available with two engine options including a 1.5-litre VTi motor and a 1.3-litre turbo-petrol motor. The former is capable of producing 118bhp and 150Nm of torque, while the latter is tuned to produce 161bhp and 230Nm of torque. Transmission options include a five-speed manual unit and a six-speed automatic unit. Details regarding the option that will make it to the India-spec model are unknown at the moment.
The MG Astor is scheduled for the India launch sometime around Diwali in 2021. Once launched, the MG Astor will rival the Hyundai Creta , Kia Seltos, and the Nissan Kicks. The prices for Astor has not been announced yet. Another fact about this amazing SUV is that this is the Longest in the segment and has maximum features too.
