In memory of Henry "Hank" Winston Edwards: 68, of Greentown, passed away at 6:12 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 28, 2023, at Community Howard Regional Health in Kokomo.
He was born in Flint, Michigan, on July 27, 1955, the son of the late Glen Edwards Sr. and Viola (Frederickson) Edwards. On Jan. 17, 1976, he married Theresa Short at Community Bible Church in Greentown, and she survives.
Henry was a 1974 graduate of Eastern High School. He earned an associate's degree from Lincoln Technical Institute. He worked as the Head Fleet Mechanic with UPS for 33 years until his retirement. Henry was heavily involved with youth sports like baseball, pixie league softball, and he assisted coaching varsity football at Eastern. He drove a school bus for Eastern School Corp., and was often referred to as "Coach" by the students. Henry was a kind and very social man who was passionate about taking care of others. He was the best poppie to his grandchildren. He was a muscle car buff and enjoyed drag racing in Bunker Hill.
In addition to his wife, Theresa; Henry is survived by his children, Josh (Jennifer) Edwards, Sandi (Heath) Pharris; grandchildren, Eli and Abe Edwards, Callan, Riley, and Hayes Pharris; siblings, Glen Edwards Jr., Dee (Darrell Causey) Daugher-Causey; in-laws, Janice (Tom) Languell, Victor (Patty) Short, Tony (Michelle) Short; several nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Molly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Peggy Graves; sister-in-law, Roxann Edwards; and father-in-law,
