That wasn't direct that was just unprofessional. Oder er/sie kommt aus einem Bundesland/-staat in welchem Anstand verlernt wurde (Hallo, Berlin).

That's not direct. That's straight rude and inconsiderate. I would probably cancel for the rest of the classes and let her know that she doesn't have to be rude when she's inconveniencing her clients. That would be a 'direct' response to her rudeness.

So where were the other kids, no one turned up so they must have got a message. Check your Spam etc. Maybe the reply was short because she is very ill and wasn't up to repeating a message that she had already, presumably, sent. BTW my sister lives in Ontario and she has many stories to tell about impolite, rude Canadians, not all of them are as sweet as you.

I was sick could mean she was sick last weak and fine now or she was sick and still is.
If she is still sick I wouldn't expect a reply let alone an apology.
And depending on which illness she had I wouldn't expect an apology neither.
