﴿بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ١
«1. I begin by calling on Allah, Who is Ar-Raḥmān, the Merciful, and Ar-Raḥīm, the Compassionate. These last two names of Allah are derived from the Arabic word raḥmah, which means mercy: proving the greatness and vastness of His Mercy and that His Mercy surrounds everything, and embraces all living beings. Every blessing is due to His mercy, and the believers receive the greatest mercy.»
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٢
«2. All praise belongs to Allah with regards to His essence, attributes and actions, because He is the Creator of everything. Everything belongs to Him and He is the disposer of their affairs; blessing individuals specifically and humans in general.»
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ٣
«3. Two names of Allah, Ar-Raḥmān and Ar-Raḥīm, derived from the word raḥmah, or mercy: indicating His mercy for creation, with the believers being the greatest recipients of it.»
مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٤
«4. He is the Master of the day of Judgement, the day in which we will be brought back to life and repaid for what we have done, all of His creation will be held accountable for their actions and recompensed for them. On that day God will ask “To whom belongs the Kingdom today?” [Sūrah Ghafir: 16] No one, no matter how high his status, will answer, and then God will reply Himself, “to God, the One, the Overcomer” [Sūrah Ghafir: 16]»
إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ٥
«5. We worship and obey none except You; we associate no one with You, and from You alone do we ask for help in all our affairs. All goodness is in Your hand, and there is no helper except You.»
ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ٦
«6. Show and facilitate for us the right way, the path of submission to You which has no crookedness, and make us firm upon it –»
صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ٧﴾ [الفاتحة: 1-7]
«7. The same path as those of Your creation whom You have blessed with guidance, such as the prophets, the truthful, martyrs, and the righteous ones. What good companions these people make! Keep us away from the path of those who earned Your anger, who knew the truth and did not follow it – as was the case with the Israelites; and keep us away from the path of those who lost their way and were not guided, because they were neglectful in seeking the Truth and being guided by it – as was the case with the Christians.»




﴿بِسۡمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ١
«قرائت قرآن با نام الله آغاز می‌شود تا از او تعالی یاری و مدد تقاضا گردد و به ذکر نام او تبرک جسته شود. بسمله (گفتن یا نوشتن بسم الله الرحمن الرحیم)، سه مورد از اسماء نیکوی الله را دربردارد: 1ـ «الله»؛ یعنی: معبود برحق. الله، برترین اسم او تعالی است و غیر ذات پاکش، هیچ کس دیگری به این اسم نامیده نمی‌شود. 2ـ «الرّحمن»؛ یعنی: دارای رحمت گسترده؛ زیرا او تعالی، در ذات خویش بخشنده و مهربان است. 3ـ «الرّحیم»؛ یعنی دارای رحمت پی‌درپی و همیشگی؛ زیرا او تعالی، بر اساس رحمت و مهربانی خویش، به هر یک از مخلوقاتش که بخواهد، از جمله بندگان مؤمنش، رحم می‌نماید.»
ٱلۡحَمۡدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ ٱلۡعَٰلَمِينَ ٢
«تمام مدح و ستایش‌ها و صفات جلال و کمال، تنها برای او تعالی است؛ زیرا فقط او، پروردگار، آفریدگار و تدبیرکنندۀ همه‌چیز است. «العالمین» جمع «العالَم»، تمام آنچه غیر الله تعالی باشد را شامل می‌شود.»
ٱلرَّحۡمَٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ٣
«در آیۀ قبلی، الله مورد مدح و ستایش قرار گرفت و در این آیه، ثنای او تعالی گفته می‌شود.»
مَٰلِكِ يَوۡمِ ٱلدِّينِ ٤
«الله بلند مرتبه مالک همه‌چیز در روز قیامت است، روزی‌که هیچ‌کس نسبت به دیگری مالک ذره‌ای نیست. بنابراین «یوم الدین»: روز جزا و حسابرسی است.»
إِيَّاكَ نَعۡبُدُ وَإِيَّاكَ نَسۡتَعِينُ٥
«تمام عبادت‌ها و طاعت‌ها را فقط به تو اختصاص می‌دهیم؛ یعنی دیگران را با تو شریک نمی‌گردانیم و در تمام کارها فقط از تو یاری می‌جوییم؛ زیرا تمام خیر و خوبی‌ها به دست توست و یاوری جز تو نیست.»
ٱهۡدِنَا ٱلصِّرَٰطَ ٱلۡمُسۡتَقِيمَ٦
«ما را به راه راست راهنمایی بفرما، ما را در این راه قرار بده و در آن پایدار بدار و بر هدایت ما بیفزا. «الصراط المستقیم» راه روشنی است که هیچ کژی و انحرافی ندارد، یعنی همان اسلام که الله، محمد صلی الله علیه وسلم را با آن فرستاد.»
صِرَٰطَ ٱلَّذِينَ أَنۡعَمۡتَ عَلَيۡهِمۡ غَيۡرِ ٱلۡمَغۡضُوبِ عَلَيۡهِمۡ وَلَا ٱلضَّآلِّينَ٧﴾ [الفاتحة: 1-7]
«راه کسانی از بندگانت که با هدایت‌شان به آنها نعمت دادی؛ مانند پیامبران علیهم السلام، و صدیقان و شهدا و صالحان، و اینها چه نیکو رفیقانی هستند؛ نه راه کسانی‌که بر آنها خشم گرفته شده است، همان کسانی‌که حق را شناختند و هرگز از آن پیروی نکردند، مانند یهود؛ و نه راه گمراهان از حق، کسانی‌که به دلیل کوتاهی در جستجوی حق و هدایت‌ جستن به آن، به‌سوی حق هدایت نشدند، مانند نصاری.»
