Here is how we teach 5 languages to our 2 and half years old.
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday my husband speaks to him only in Tamil which is my husband's mother tongue.
And those days I speak to him only in Russian. Which is my second language.
Wednesday and Sunday dad speaks only in Sanskrit to our toddler. And I speak in Turkish which is my 3rd language.
My native language is Turkmen. We may add it little later.
So instead of teaching kids how to write letters, or learn some less useful stuff in olden days they used to teach something which requires good memory power.
Kids have powerful memory power. Instead of teaching grammar make them memorize things.
So in gurukul little kids used to memorize whole grammar rules. Not knowing their interpretation yet. Once they grow up they would learn remaining part. But memorization used to be done in childhood.
