One thing I can recommend after using markers for ages is to use the colorless blender as a base layer before putting the markers on. It’ll lighten the colors slightly but think of it like covering an area in water before the paint when doing watercolor. It’ll limit some of the streaks and make everything blend more smoothly. In general, a lot of watercolor techniques actually apply to markers. Also, for the undertone thing, take a very light marker in the tone you want and put that as the first layer. That’ll allow it to blend more seamlessly with the main tones. Adding a lighter color on top of a darker one often doesn’t work like you would think.

I have been using alcohol markers for years, so here are some of my tips
1. You'll need to test your color pencils first, but a lot of brands actually blend out with alcohol markers. Using color pencils as a base is a great way to add undertones or make a light shade with the right undertone a darker color. Color pencils also layer over alcohol marker beautifully!
2. Avoid streaks by moving slowly or in a circular motion.
3. Test your colors before using them. You can always go darker but never lighter.
4. I highly suggest making your own color swatch chart on the paper you plan on using with your markers. The colors will always look slightly different on different kinds of papers, brands, etc.

I've heard really good things about Ohuhu markers as an affordable alcohol marker. Which coming from using Copic markers as my main traditional medium, I'm very excited to get my hands on some of these.
Some unsolicited advice: Don't be afraid to use a LOT of ink. More than you think you need. It helps a lot with the "streaky" nature markers can leave.

Instead of making separate streaks, try going in light, circular motions to give a blended look I have ohuou markets too!
