In the video you can also listen to captain's announcment about the cancelled port, plus an official explanation in writing about the missed port.
For us, it was disappointing since we were looking forward to visiting Visby, a medieval walled town with lots of history that we haven't been to, not to mention the time spent planning activities for this port.
Please leave a comment and let us know which cruise ports you missed due to high wind, and what time of the year it was. It would be interesting to see if there are certain ports that are missed frequently, and that perhaps cruise lines should either select alternative ports in future itineraries or make backup plans for a port that has a higher than normal rate of being missed.

I'm doing a Canada/New England cruise next month on NCL. The last two trips were cut short for passengers dues to Hurricane Lee and then tropical storm Ophelia. Many ships, not only NCL, returned to NYC early and just sat anchored in the harbor. One was there from Thursday-Sunday before being able to dock at the pier as usual. Other ships stayed up in Canada during these tims and yet other started their trips, so I'm not sure why some feel its okay to continue and others don't.
