How should we define intelligence? Is it in our IQ score, our ability to recite the state capitals in alphabetical order, or does true intelligence go deeper than that? If you've spent enough time around people that aren't authentically intelligent, you know that the latter is true. Intelligence is so much more than storing knowledge and while people may like to impress others with what they've read in books, that doesn't make them highly intelligent. Before long, they will expose themselves and prove an important life lesson.

In this video, I want to discuss the 10 signs of intelligence you can't fake. When I talk about intelligence, I'm not talking about being book-smart, as we like to call it. There are millions of people in the world that can retain facts and figures about a subject, and are perhaps highly knowledgeable in their field, but don't have a high level of intelligence. They lack other skills and personality traits that people with high intelligence can't switch off.

This is why true intelligence is so hard to fake. These personality traits and instinctive reactions define highly intelligent people and make them who they are. In some ways, it is an effortless way of being where certain traits come naturally. Of course, the flip side to this is a lot of desires and traits become hard to ignore, and there is a constant need for gratification and productivity.

This is another reason why it is so hard to fake true intelligence. Those that fake it may want to look intelligent for short-term goals, such as to fit in at a party or impress someone with that knowledge on a niche subject. However, once they are on their own with no one to interact with, they drop all pretense and fail to showcase the key signs of intelligence I'm going to talk about in this video.
