That is correct. In "Star Wars: Episode VI - Return of the Jedi," the term "Ewok" is never actually spoken on screen. The word "Ewok" originates from behind-the-scenes materials, marketing, and later Star Wars media. In the film itself, the furry inhabitants of the forest moon of Endor are not referred to by name. They are simply introduced through the course of the story as the indigenous beings who live on Endor and play a significant role in aiding the Rebel Alliance in their battle against the Galactic Empire.
