Ty! Yes there's nothing wrong w that choice as a child. Just as an adult unaware of making it or how it may have started as a strategy and may not reflect our true personality or our true adult needs.

This debilitated me because my people pleasing was in the medical environment. I learnt to be the quiet, compliant and helpful patient, and as an adult, that just gets you either ignored or treated like a drug seeker or hypochondriac, because being familiar with the medical system was fine when i was little, but has made me deeply unpopular in the same environments as an adult
