Now I can't unsee the Belmonts having this time honored tradition now, where every Belmont 13th birthday they get to kill a faux Dracula sort of like a bar-mitzvah event or have a Dracula piñata to beat the crap out of.

Honestly, I did not know that. I just assumed Belmonts took turns with murdering this Dracula dude.

We've actually seen a Belmont go into Castlevania and NOT intentionally fight Dracula. Oddly enough, it was Richter's actual grandad, Juste in Harmony of Dissonance.

In fact going of the show so far ‘none’ of the Belmonts have killed Dracula. It was Alucard/Dracula himself that killed Dracula.

I mean, funny you use Richter as an example, considering he was so upset about not being able to kill Dracula again that he straight up revived him XD

Simon also fought Dracula twice, but he didn't quite choose to do so.

Then Quigley Morris' family joined in on killing Dracula when the Belmonts were having a break, then undercover organizations joined in on killing Dracula, then one more Belmont led all the world powers into killing Dracula and finally Dracula killed (metaphorical) Dracula.

Kinda happens when the series is named after him in Japan

The one thing I really don't like about season 3 is that Alucard's plotline ends up feeling pointless in light of season 4.
In season 3, he is betrayed, almost murdered, and foreshadowed to descend into misanthropy. Fastforward to season 4, and he's pretty much back to normal even before he sets off to help those people.
Maybe he just needed some time off...

I think a better comment would have been "But grandpappy Simon got to kill Dracula twice!"

At some point you wonder if Drac is a closet masochist...

I mean, Dracula only reappears every 100ish years in game universe. Simons quest was uhh… a deviation from the pseudonorm

You can only kill Dracula so many times in one century.

Unless you're Simon, then you literally resurrect your Op to do it again.

That's a part of writing that can be really hard for a writer. Heroes must lose sometimes so that later victories feel earned. The protagonists have to have at least one moment of genuinely feeling like they might lose. Even in shows like Dr. Who, House, and Sherlock, the super genius, always right protagonist needs a few "wait, I was wrong, we're screwed." Moments each season because always winning easily is not entertaining. It's more entertaining watching someone run hurdles than watching them walk down the street.

If Richter’s lucky, he’ll get to shatter the wineglass.

(Castlevania season 3 ending) Trevor's last-words moment in the final battle is my favorite part of the ending, or at least the most memorable to me

Personally I like season 3 on a greater scope because it didn't give me so much the feeling of the protagonists being overpowered protagonists as stupid as it sounds.
I also was really relieved they didn't revive Dracula but still used him as a plot device to not relie on the probably most important figure of the series again and again.
Though I didn't like hiw lewd for example the series was I really liked what they did with the development of the protagonists to set up Camilla in the right way.
Also they made Isaac the coolest character ever, while almost ruining Hector (still came out well tho) so fight me!

I don't think season 3 having a few Ls was necessarily bad, but it went too far IMO. What with the attempted murder of Alucard mid sex and the child murdering Judge and the entire town dying horribly because no one scratched out the ritual marks. Just gets to be a bit too much.

I know one Belmont who never got to kill Dracula.
Julius. They're buddies instead.

Richter: Mom says it's my turn to play Dracula.

Alucard: God shits in my dinner once again. FIIIIIINNNNE.

(Internal Monologue): Fuck. Not again. I keep thinking like him even after all these years I might as well start calling myself Adrian Fucking Belmont.

(Internal Monologue 2 - Imitating Sypha): You know Alucard, that certainly has a lovely ring to it. And speaking from experience, it's not as bad as you might imagine.

(Internal Monologue 1 - Alucard): Wait, no! Not this Again!!

_(Internal Monologue 2 - Sypha): Why are you shocked? It's how you've kept our memories alive after all these years. I think it's sweet."

(Imternal Monologue 3 - Imitating Trevor): Yeah. Real fucking peachy mate.

(Internal Monologue 1): What? You too?!

(Internal Monologue 3): Welcome to the family Alucard!! It's all downhill from here?

_(Internal Monologue 1): No. No!! You're in my past!"

(Internal Monologue 4 - Imitating Greta): Oh, that is sweet. Hey does this make me a Belmont by marriage?

(Internal Monologue 1): You too?! I never even made a doll of you. Why are you here??

(Internal Monologue 4): Oh, Alucard... I'm always with you. Whether you know it or not.

(Internal Monologue 2): And we're with you too Alucard...

(Internal Monologue 3): Whether you like it or not!!

(Internal Monologue 5 - Imitating Lisa): And I got sneaking suspicion he doesn't.

(Internal Monologue 1): No , no... nononono NO! THIS IS NOT HAPPENING!!

(Internal Monologue 5): I'm as shocked as you. I've read a lot about the phenomenon of hearing voices in one's own head... I never thought I'd be a part of it.

Alucard (and Internal Monologue 1): FFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCKK!!!!!!!!
