Our society is successful because we work to our strengths, not forced ideologies.

My father passed away young - at the age of 50 - leaving three teenagers behind. Thankfully, Iā€™m originally from Eastern Europe, so my mother had her own business and we didnā€™t end up in poverty, or having to drop out of school to start working. Instead, mom raised us and send us to university abroad. Never remarried or even dated ever again - thatā€™s how wonderful my dad was, she couldnā€™t even think of meeting another man (although, we encouraged her).

Now we are all grown up, I ended up in Switzerland with a good career and a 6 figure salary (Iā€™m a woman). Due to my Eastern European heritage, I can cook and run a household, but I still have my career. Never been happier.

And mom? We are spoiling her to bits! Moved her to the seaside, have exotic vacations with her, and Iā€™m in charge of her skincare routine (she never spend much on herself).

Being a stay-at-home mom is all idyllic and wholesome, until real life hits you. If you are to end up alone with children at 40+ with no education or skills to survive, youā€™d understand why it is important for a woman to step outside the traditional role of homemaker. You canā€™t live off savings or government assistance for the rest of your life.

I am stay at stay-at-home, homeschool mom, because I CHOOSE to be. My husband supports this decision and I feel so thankful that he does. I feel respected, equal and heard in my marriage and household. My heart breaks for these women who are being forced and have no say under the guise of religion. So manipulative and so evil.

The feminist movement never said you couldnā€™t be a stay at home Housewife. What they wanted was choices.

This is straight out fraud! If he was already married then their marriage isn't valid. Talk to a lawyer to get this straightened out and she should sue the 'husband' for child support and mental anguish. He stole her innocence and her child bearing years with his lies.
A traditional wife is fine if that's what you choose and go into your marriage feeling good about your decision. I can't imagine how to tell the kids what and how this happened.

I think the current spike is not the Treadway fans, but everybody else looking at Tad wife as we go through the 4B movement and everyone else starts looking at that wife to poverty pipeline. and itā€™s pretty good for the information to get out and about. Itā€™s most dangerous when itā€™s watched and small groups that are isolated who donā€™t understand or have the context to understand how dangerous this is.

I haven't seen the whole story yet but just this synapses sounds like my story: Spirituality manipulated into marrying a crackhead. We're still married but I haven't seen him for 7 years. I hear he's very happy with his girlfriend, whom he's been living with for at least 7 years.

Have you covered the story of the fundamentalist Christian mom who had mental health issues set off by horrible postpartum depression, pushed to have as many kids as possible pushed her over the edge. She became consumed with guilt and fear about being told she was responsible for her kid's salvation and any failure would put her and her kids in hell. Told only children were freed from hell if they did wrong, not adults, she became consumed with this fear, becoming psychotic and killing her kids? It is dark, but I never new the extraordinarily high rate of postpartum depression and possible consequences making the quiverfull movement and isolating practices so much more unsafe than I ever realized, despite having grown up in it.The youtube channel Mama Doctor Jones just posted this story with the title "The Horrifying Andrea Yates Postpartum Physcosis Tragedy". Thank you for bringing light to darkness by Cults to Consciousness! Be well

It makes gross generalizations about relationships and marriages before feminism, like every one was a cookie cutter copy of the Beavers. Relationships have been varied across time. I guarantee my parents and grandparents marriages were partnerships of equals.

Iā€™m a trad wife who walks around in a pink dressing gown and tells the kids to get their own breakfast. And I never really put the washing away. Iā€™d like to be a better wife I just suck at it. If it was the 1940ā€™s you could add that my hair would be in curlers and Iā€™d be smoking. But thatā€™s about the difference.

The problem is women being looked down on for being a stay at home wife or mom. Like that is not enough. Or no women would ever want that.

The problem here is marrying a stranger. Trad or not that's goofy.
