After hearing the rain land on the tailgate just aft of the rear window, I was shocked how loud it was. It sounded like ice cubes hitting a big tin can.
I rolled in some ‘Dynamat’ on the inside of the trunk lid in that area and down around the license plate lower panel and it greatly reduced the road noise at speed that came from the back of our 2023 MYp. We ride in other people’s model Y’s and we can hear the difference. I used about 8kg of mat. I later added some to each passenger door and made a further improvement.

Cool! As a Tesla all in investor I think I found another interesting EV company that offers a truck and van that also has drive-by-wire technology! And it’s only 24 cents a share. They’re just now ramping up production! The stock is GOEV! I just put a $1000 stock order with betting $. I know it’s a long-shot, but the recent pivot to sell B2B to fleet buyers such as Amazon as delivery vans give it a unique niche Tesla hasn’t addressed yet

Its not the glass though 😅 i would have hoped Americans knew you guys have veen using laminated glass for nrarly 100 years. Its a combination of antique technology laminated glass along with modern cabin soundproofing that reduces the sound. And yes. Laminated glass eas as standard front, back and door glass in my 1949 Studebaker pickup. Tempered glass is a safety feature so you can smash it easily ifnyou need to escape. What i really want to know is how easily can you smash through the tesla glass to escape in an emergency? Thats the next video please

My parents recently took delivery of a 23 model S. I have a 2015 P85D. I can agree that it's incredibly much quieter than mine. In addition to the glass being twice as thick, I found in their owners manual that Tesla has installed speaker receivers in the front seats that collect noise and send out a counter sound through the car speakers to cancel out the noise. Same technology as noise canceling headsets. Their car is incredibly quiet & I'm jealous!
