I find it's also a lot harder to deal with. I have 3 autistic kiddos and 2 that are awaiting assessments. 2 of my dx kiddos were just delayed and quirky from a few months old. But my boy that regressed.. he's now 6 and only just learnt to talk again (still very hard to understand and probably always will be).. but he was developmentally typical until 14ish months. And it was the staring and not responding to his name then the rest just came.

You're right, losing skills, even with the presence of autism, is sometimes related to seizures. That was the case for my middle son. Anti seizure meds have been life changing for him

My son is 7 with autism (diagnosed at 2) and simple breaks in school like for holidays and summer vacation he tends to regress due to that schedual and consistancy being haulted. We do summer school programs to help keep on track and reduce those odds of falling behind.
