As technology gets better it’s easier to make better animation so you can compare animation form 4 years ago to animation today. Also an animation being flashy with a lot of colours doesn’t make it good animation is the movement of the characters everything else is added in post( it is usually a few lines)

The examples you just used are from the movies. Better budget and better scheduling for production. A seasonal anime has better production compared to a show running for years.
