The problem is, the political leaders aren't supposed to have all those answers, they're supposed to know enough to get the broad strokes of various sectors and listen to the sector leaders in regard to specifics when shaping policy.

There wasn't a problem other than them cutting mics when they are allowed to cut each other off it allows for the bullshit nonsense to be called out. And if someone is fact checking they need to put someone on each side doing it to both not teaming up on 1 side like we all obviously seen

This is a profoundly bad idea. Notwithstanding how one would go about determining each sector's "best representative", there is also the question of the other interlocutor. The best govt representatives on these policy matters to quiz are not the politicians, but the clerk of the privy council and the deputy ministers. They are the ones who formulate the bulk of policy and the ones who operationalize it. The politicians role in all this is to put a veneer of democratic will to the whole process.
