My wife and I read all the HP books aa soon as they were released, but one of our favourite times was listening to Stephen's audio books of the series whilst driving our campervan on holiday in Europe.
It added to the fun of the trips and also made the long drives on French Autoroutes and German Autobahns pass easily.
They were so brilliant, especially the vocal narration, which brought each character to life, that we often repeated our favourite chapters.
Thank you, Stephen, for those memories and also your clarity on the human experience, opposition to all bigotry, and insight into your own struggles with depression.

I read all the Harry potter books through his audio books while I worked. He brought them to life.

Stephen's got a soothing voice for sure, and a British accent that isn't so strong that it's disturbing or confusing.
Besides, British is easier to listen to than American English, you can easily hear the difference between "can" and "can't".
Great storyteller.

The first book included the phrase "he pocketed it" and Stephen asked if it could be changed as he was having trouble saying it. Word came from JK Rowling that no, it had to be exactly as written. But then, she included that phrase in EVERY subsequent book, just for him to say it.

This book got me through a difficult time in my life, hearing Stephen was a comfort, now I loath the books and everything associated with them. Such a shame the author chose hate over tolerance, the principle the books were supposed to be about.
