Brazil is a great country, with amazing food, culture, and people. The problem here is that it seems that the criminal life has more value than the victims, we can't have the death penalty since it's against our constitution, but we also don't have life imprisonment just because we have people in Congress who already gave INTERVIEWS SAYING: “how am I going to approve a law if it can affect a son of mine?”, like (????? I'm sorry what???)
For you guys to have an idea, until 1992 murder wasn't a grave crime in Brazil. You would be in jail for more time for killing a blue macaw than killing a person (it was until Daniela Perez's case). Nowadays, we have laws, benefits (the so-called “saidinhas”), and projects to make prisoners get out of jail for only 2/5 of their penalty (it exists projects that if they read a single book it removes 2 days out of their penalty). And because of these politicians that my so beautiful and wonderful country is a mess 😢
