YouTube itself is broken. Notifications are messed up, and live chats are not working. And YouTube doesn't appear to give a fig.

YouTube is broken. Whenever i join a livestream, my chats will go through for a couple of mins, before none of my chats go through (this is all through the web version on iPad) notifications are also not working, and if i want to go to my channel, I actually have to search it up to get to my own content. It is a real pain. I just want to click my profile to get to my channel, not tire my fingers out by searching it up😭

Hey VidIQ, Just wanted to let y'all know I haven't really had too many issues with my longer shorts being picked up in the shorts feed. It took a while initially, but I started adding the hashtag for shorts in the title and it seemed to start working better, not sure if it had any influence though. They are still appearing as long forms at the same time which is a whole confusing experience for the channel layout... xD

Direct quote from YouTube Community Partner Manager: “3 minute shorts will be rolled out to everyone on November 11.
We were not aware that is was a gradual roll out and it likely shouldnt have been included in the newsletter, the problem is that some people have the ability and some dont and we don't have the methodology of how people are getting access and not. The good news is (as we've seen from other youtube product rollouts) that it may be to your advantage to not be in the first batch as our algorithm learns how to handle these new videos).”

If YouTube wants to compete with tiktok on short content they are in the dust. Lol for one thing, let us upload our shorts through the app at full quality. You still have to upload shorts through the desktop version of YouTube. If you use the app, your shorts will be capped at like 480p. Tiktok let's you upload at full quality with the app. Yeah this whole three minute short thing was a huge mis-advertisent / lie.

I made one short which was little under 3 minutes and yeah... let's just say that i'll wait until they actually work before i make those again.
