Reminds me very much of ā€œBeethovenā€ by Eurythmics, and how they sampled the orchestral stings and sections of Beethovenā€™s 5th Symphony.

I believe Depeche Mode and Alan Wilder used an Emu Emulator II for sampling and not the Synclavier. I might be wrong, but i dont think Daniel Miller the owner of Mute Records ever mentioned owning a synclavier. A few techno bands also sampled Carmina Burana in the early 90s. I also hear an additional 2 layers. A dual horn stab sample ar the tail and a two hit hand cymbal over that at the tail.
