Will say, for best gaming experience per dollar, console, but if you're going to do more than just game and watch YouTube, a PC will take the cake. You can find decent deals secondhand. Especially around report card season!

It depends, prebuilt PCs for 500 bucks are horrible. But you can build a really capable PC for 500.

If your budget is $500, put it in savings and wait until you get another $500. You can build yourself a mid tier pc, and then as you get the money or on holidays, you slowly upgrade it

In my country, piracy is extremely common, i'd much rather pay $400 on a pc and get free games than $500 on a console and get hit with $60 pricetags

$500 can get you a PC that can play ANY game in 1080p with framerates as high as 240FPS. If you play mostly eSports and FPS games, the PC is the better choice.

I mostly agree, but personally I would choose differently with my main reason being upgrade ability while you may be able to get better value per dollar but if you have the chance to upgrade it later which in my opinion will make it worth it.

Consider building a budget PC for $500 instead of buying a console. Look for good deals on used PCs or components to save money.

Ngl I got a Prebuildt pc from Amazon and so far no issues. Only struggles on the highest end of perfomance draining games. Everything else is smooth sailing. (Bought 2 years ago for $600)

Respect! One thing, if u have a 300$ budget, get a Series S. I have a PS3 and Xbox series S and in future PS5.

You’re right on many levels. Buying a pc needs way too much stuff if you’re a gamer. Monitor, headset, mic, and etc. but with consoles you just need yourself, a tv, and that’s about it. Pc gaming is better in the grand scheme of things but a console is nice if you really want to settle down.

Buy a console? Hell no! I started on a $500 budget PC in 2020, with a geforce 1650, i3 10100, and 16 GBs of ram. after saving and buying parts accordingly, over the course of a year (along with my own research and tech help from friends), including buying a GPU during the GPU mining craze (yes, i was a dumbass for that one), i upgraded to a EVGA 3060, i7 10700, and 36 GBS of ram in 2021. And aint ever going back to console. So for all, start small, if you have to, and upgrade to get where you want to be, and not where everyone else is.

Can you please make a updated setup tour?

For $500 you can build a pretty good PC as long as you use used parts and build it yourself; however, if you are only looking at prebuilts than a console is going to be sooooo much better

Before anyone tries to argue this, go back, watch again and listen for a keyword: prebuilt, we all know prebuilts suck for the price, it'd be different if it was building a PC, but this ain't about building one

For all the content that you can get on a computer and the fact that it has a dedicated upgrade path, no matter what. means yeah it’s kind of better in the long run. PCs and $500 is a good starting point for a lot of people

The key here is pre-built.
A console for $500 will outperform a pre-built PC for $500 unless you get a really good deal.

Looking at buying used and/or building yourself tho, you can get something really good for $500, but that does require prior knowledge about whats good and whats not, and if you're gonna build yourself you'll need some knowledge on that.
It can also depend heavily on where you live and whats available.
