As someone who hikes and explores the woods a lot. The trick to crossing logs/trees is look where you want to be not where you're stepping. But I also know the last bit of the pole is slicked so yeah that does add another level of challenge. Would like to try this someday.

I think my strategy would be to straddle and hug the pole, flip upside down and climb all the way to the end. It wouldn't look cool at all and I would probably still fail.
