In LA they just fill the roads with so many cars traffic barely moves at all.

They added the trees to make sure your speed drops 100% if you hit them

In India, We use organic potholes technology which is very much useful for sustainable driving. After which vehicles become 100% recycle ready.

"Brick road surfaces increases road noise."
American automakers: looks like we need another half ton of acoustic insulation.

"narrow lanes gives the urge for people to slow down."
Man, if only that applies to the bus drivers in the Philippines...

I love the smooth design of the speed bumps in the Netherlands with basically a ramp on either side.
I don’t often see speed bumps in North America, but when I do I have to pray that they don’t damage my vehicle.

Bro the speedbumps in America will make everything in your car do a flip, yeet your coffee into the backseat and launch any small children into the stratosphere

Having trees close to the road works as it's painful driving into them.

Here in Costa Rica we use pedestrians to slow cars down.

Also state-of-the-art potholes Strategically placed.

And the all mighty and powerful eternal traffic jam all around the country from 6am to around 11am and then from 4pm to around 7pm.

We're way ahead on this game.

This is a new YouTube feature called "YouTube Shorts" (that YouTube are promoting quite heavily).

They are vertical videos designed for mobile that are less than 1 minute long. They show up in various places in the YouTube mobile app, but it usually takes a few days to appear on the "Shorts Shelf".

Unfortunately they're still uploaded as "normal" videos, so you'll also see them on desktop as well. For now, I've turned off subscriber notifications for these videos (that may change), and I've made all of the thumbnails "green" so you can easily ignore them if you don't like vertical videos.

These will come in addition to regular video releases, not in place of them.

I'm using this feature as a way to attract new subscribers and to introduce newbies to short facts that I can talk about in more detail in a future video.

And no, I'm not going to start posting to Instagram or TikTok: I want to focus my time on more content on YouTube rather than less content but on more platforms. Posting to TikTok & Instragram still takes time and effort, and they would be more (of already too many) channels where I need to handle comments and requests.

The speed bumps at 0:32 are special ones so busses can drive over them without it being too uncomfortable for passengers.

In Australia they build wide roads with smooth surfaces to make you go faster and use hidden speed cameras. That's what happens in a country where the population are descendants of convicts and prison officer descendants.

Balkans be like: we purposefully made the road 1 lane so people drive more carefully, but actually the government just can't afford a normal road

I like the concept of a pedestrian cross being raised to sidewalk level. So drivers are forced to recognise them, slow down, and pay more attention.

I also loved how the road rises to the ped crossings so it forces them to slow down where people are walking. I wish that would happen more often in the states
