As a teacher of 5 year olds myself, also teach them the split digraphs like a-e (as in ‘name’), e-e (as in ‘theme’), i-e (as in ‘time’), o-e (as in ‘home’) and u-e (as in ‘tune’)

My mom quit school in early age but taught herself how to read and write in which she taught me how to read and write in Spanish using the Bible in which I already learned English as well I thank her everyday for teaching me she was an amazing mom and teacher ❤

What a fabulous mom you are!!!! I was "home schooled" more like "no schooled" our mom never took the time to explain things to us. Soon as we could read, we were given "work sheets" ugggg it was horrible, so much struggle, so many tears.

I commend you so much for taking out the time to teach your children what is needed for living in “this” world. You are not relying on the lying school system to teach your children for eight hours a day. Some parents need to be watching this because some might not be able to read and can’t help their children…but yet they rely on the school system to teach.. it starts at home…WELL COMMENDED

This is such a great tip. My 12 year old son is going into 7th grade and is Autistic and has adhd and is very, very behind in spelling because he is not interested in it. I feel like this is something I can do with him and make it fun and feel a bit more confident when he starts school this fall. Thank you.
