Not sure if this is all artists, but when I make a really sad/traumatised/depressed character, I always remove the white dot from their eyes, or their Sparkle, as I call it (I grew up in the Gacha life Era don't blame me), and it just makes then look so much less emotional. Like, such a simple change does so much for the whole character.

Give the artists of Demon Slayer a freaking award because they captured it all. I love how they added no sparkle to the eye, it just shows how much the characters have been through.
