Great point John! In the west we are so obsessed with obtaining what the marketplace defines as "the best", without first asking the most basic questions of what it is we really want and need. There's no need for me to have a speaker that touts a frequency up to 22 khz because my hearing taps out at 15 khz. Anything higher would just annoy my dog.

The best speakers for me are the ones I got today to go with my new Denon 600 series Amp and CD player.
They are Wharfedale Diamond 9.1 and right now I’m loving the whole setup.
I’m sure there will come a time when I will want to upgrade from this entry level budget system but right now it all sounds fantastic to me coming from using my phone or PC for music. 🙂

I've been playing around with Chat GPT and Gemini and comparing sound signatures when compared with tech I already own. From there, I've been asking for suggestions. Even then, there's so many variables.
There's nothing quite like hearing them in your own space.
1) Do some research.
2) Stay in budget.
3) Purchase and live with them for a week.
4) Not satisfied? Return and repeat.

Disagree. The best speakers are full-range and require no subwoofer. These are almost certainly floor-standing speakers. The question is whether you can afford them, not if they are the best.
