課程概述：本課程由哲學角度省思人生問題，試圖借助中西哲學家的見解，探討什麼叫做「人生」，以及人應該如何思考意義、選擇價值。首先由較具系統的西方哲學著手，介紹思想方法，主導原則，發展經緯，以及較有特色的哲學家 (如蘇格拉底)，與至今仍有影響力的學派 (如存在主義)。其次，轉向中國哲學，說明其源流與特色，並針對儒家與道家，詳述其立說的主旨與合乎時宜的詮釋。最後則敞開視野，評論藝術、宗教、教育、文化，使全方位的人生得以展現，並輔之以哲學的省思。
