You find them cute until you've seen a dingo literally use their opposable thumbs to get out of their cage at the zoo, to just wander among the people. They're like Blue in Jurassic Park: beyond smart, and crafty as hell.

Aussie here - you’ll find especially up north lots of dogs have some dingo in them. So I guess people do kinda keep them as pets

I'm an Aussie, and I LOVE dogs but dingoes be....complicated. when I was at Fraser Island, they were everywhere, and at first I was taking photos and squealing "so cute". And then I went for a walk along the beach at dusk and looked up and there was just a pack of them standing there....staring at me....not moving....and blocking my way back up the beach. I just moved along the water line and they just watched me until I got to a point where I could leave. It was very eerie with strong Hitchcock "Birds" vibes only with carnivores. Moral to the story: Things that can rip your throat out can still be cute - just give em space!

Still ran dingo, yellow dog dingo, always hungry, grinning like a rat-trap, never getting nearer, never getting farther, running after Kangaroo.

He had to.

When I was young we would drive across the country with horses to compete in equestrian events in Melbourne and Sydney. One night we were delayed due to bad weather and did not get to our stop over spot before dark. The highways are dangerous at night so we decided to stop at fuel station and just camp it out. I off loaded the horses and start setting up the yards. My mum went into the ask the attendant for key to the toilet. She came running out and said put the horse back on we are drive through, her face was white a bone. I do so and we rushed back into the car. I asked why did we leave so quickly, my mum proceeded to tell me, the attendant said you better keep driving because packs of dingos rom the area in groups as strong as 20, they have been know to rip the legs of sheep and cattle and leave them to die in the night. Safe to say dingo’s are not cute, from an Australian.

I mean, are dingos kinda like how we see wolves? But maybe not as big and vicious? Maybe coyotes?

Aussie here, Summer means:

Juvenile wongari (dingoes) are learning pack rules and showing aggression to gain dominance.
Young wongari (dingoes) begin trying to dominate people, especially children.

aussie here dingoes are the cutest things in the world but yes they will bite. be careful 😂 DO NOT FEED THEM! it is such a big issue and is some of the reason that people get bitten

Dingoes are ridiculously adorable. And, yeah, they’re dangerous, but so are a lot of things that aren’t nearly so cute. I’d rather have the cute danger.

I liked dingos until I had babies. Now they are terrifying

Aussie here: yeah, they look cute, but their feral killers. Like, I don’t ever really see dingos bc I live in the city, but when I have, I was convinced I was gonna die, I swear to god!

So… you’re saying that the photo of me with two dingoes giving me lovely dingodoggie kisses isn’t the deterrent Abi needs, eh? 😂 😉(It’s fine! We were at a sanctuary

as an Australian, i practically had a brain aneurysm when i heard “with a dingo on hist chest” like, yes they look cute, but imagine a giant dog, feral and vicious (also very hungry).

P.S: No, you could not take on a dingo lol 😅

My uncle had a dog that was part Dingo. Very rambunctious, always running off, loveable but only on his terms
