Our 8n been on our farm since the 60,s and never seen this before or on anyone else either. Great little tractor easy to maintain and repair too. Yes I went out to try this and it works I'll be. Nice ๐

Our 8N is about the only piece of equipment that has lasted and kept working on our 140 year old farm up here in upstate NY. Wonderful machine. So glad we have the Gingell family to help us keep them running.

I am 54 and have owned two 8Ns and totally restored a 2N and never knew. Thatโs really a neat feature you would have thought it would have been talked about more.

Lookin good Pops! I would love to see a tear down of a John deere 300b transmission! Unfortunately my dad got taken out from a little Ford that took to long to engage and was in front of the back tire. I really appreciate your families contribution to help others! Hero of older tractors! I spent hours on my grandfatherโs Wisconsin dairy farm being pulled through the Back 40 acres on a wooden sled called a Stone Boat, my uncle driving the old 8N Ford.

Ford did this with the Model A Ford 1928-31.In many cities there was a rule on the books that the driver exit to the passenger(sidewalk) side of the car so the gearshift would do this to make it easier to move across.
