The BRTC group has tempered so much of that hype for me, and I'm thankful for that. When I first got into bourbon I joined a couple of (unbeknowst to me) flipper groups and it caused this constant anxiety to find the "good bottles"... after being in the BRTC for a while I'm no longer as stressed (I'd be lying if I said some of it still wasn't there, but it's not NEARLY as bad) about finding those bottles, and I've found some great bottles that are far more easily accessible. The BRTC helped me enjoy the whiskey more than the hype around the whiskey.

I turned into a whiskey/bourbon tater. At the start of this new year, my brother said hias goal for the year was to have 100 bottles by the end of the year. I thought he was crazy. I hadnt started collecting yet at that point, and really wasnt drinking much. In feb, i found a weller a107, and a blantons. I started collecting. I already have 60+ bottles. I thought my brother was crazy for saying he wanted 100 by the end of the year. Now i just might have 100 by the end of the year. Idk how many times i said i have to slow down cause i dont even drink that much. Im going to stop buying $70-100$ bottles and get more 30-50$ bottles, stop buying so many cask strength bottles. I still have very few bottles less than $60, and very few that arent cask strength or full proof. Im a tater, and thats ok lol
