On Wednesday, Oakland (CA) Mayor Libby Schaaf called Las Vegas the “gross desert” during an interview talking about the Oakland A’s possibly following the Raiders and relocating to the Nevada city, reports the Las Vegas Review-Journal (bit.ly/3upyBwM).

Schaaf's comments immediately were criticized by Las Vegas Mayor Carolyn Goodman and Clark County Commissioner Michael Naft. Despite this, the Oakland mayor on Thursday said she would not apologize "for preferring 'the spectacular vista of our bay, our Bay Bridge, the San Francisco skyline, the sunset over the Pacific ocean to the desert and some pretty tacky architecture.'”
