We had a big batch of cicadas in 2021. They called it brood X it was the 17 year awakening. If and when I happens around you, you may notice the tips of your tree branches broke and hanging (last 12-18”) have no fear it’s where the eggs were laid. It breaks off sometimes falls off completely or hangs then the cicadas dig back into the ground to come back at a later date 😜🤪

We were gonna be wiseguys and say "A tree!" but we're (slightly) better than that. Yeah, those cicadas are kind of nightmarish but also fascinating. But mostly too freaking loud 😂

Ahhh cicadas. I freaking hate them. Lucky for you it is not the 17 year cycle brood. Welcome to the Midwest.

Cicadas remind me when I was a kid. We had a bloom of the 17 year variety one summer, the noise from thousands of these insects is wild. My pet raccoon loved them, my Mon freaked out when she found a coffee can of them in the freezer I was saving for fishing.
