Answer: Limerance. The reason is we are stressed beyond our capabilities to cope. The brain is so crushed under the weight of circumstances and the moment it finds a object of intense relief its going to cling to it despite the dire consequences. The ultimate result being it ends up with more stress than ever. The cycle continues until the brain get exhausted with these hopeless romances. The brain always finds a way.

the full vid made me realize that the reason that i have (or i guess had?) a crush on one of my classmates was just because i was feeling starved of intimacy, and these feelings also most likely originate from a fear of being vulnerable which i believe has been exacerbated by the way that my dad treats me on the day to day.
so basically, my dad is probably at least partially the reason that i had a crush on that person, in more ways than one in fact.

I hate to admit it but years after graduating highschool, I still have my highschool crush even though we never really talked. I don't really have a hope of ever getting into a relationship with them but life just felt too bleak without that desire to requite unrequited love

Yeah I had a crush form over couple months of casual conversing, I shot my shot, there was nothing there. We hardly talk now but that's fine. I'm pretty good for friends in all honesty unless they bring substance, something in retrospect our conversations lacked.
