For me personally, the Corey plot would be interesting if he was either already an established character or if the focus was on Allison succumbing to evil after her trauma, the town's toxic influence, maybe tension in her relationship with Laurie.
But honestly, all I want is to see Michael Myers being an inhuman unstoppable force of evil and violence. I'm a simple b*tch. I want to see Michael Myers stalk through Haddonfield and brutally kill people on Halloween. If I wanted to see this plot with Corey done right, I'd just go watch Christine.

I'd like to think that Corey Cunningham having an alliterative name was a deliberate choice to be similar to Michael Myers. But given that a good portion of this movie is a clear homage to Christine, I think they totally should have named him "Corey Carmichael" just to really hammer in that point.
