The mulch looks great and it will help add some nutrients to that clay over time but putting on that steep of a grade means you'll have some extra maintenence. Heavy rain will wash the mulch downhill. It's wood. It floats, so it will flow with the water, especially since clay absorbs water slowly. Its going to end up needing to be swept up regularly at the bottom and once every year or so you're going to have to fill a wheelbarrow to bring it back to the top. Adding some kind of border at the bottom would help so you're not sweeping it up every week.

Looks good man! The fabric under the mulch is going to be a regret. When you got the money upgrade to a decorative gravel. One and done for your top dress layer.
