Lucia died on December 13th in year 304 in Italy.
Legend has it that she delivered food to the poor, often in the darkness of night to avoid detection. She would carry a lamp or wear a crown of candles to free her hands for carrying food. She had consecrated her virginity to God and was later killed after a suitor angrily reported her to the authoroties after she rejected
