Is it an ok camera if I want to become a portrait photographer? And also shoot food professionally for restaurants? Will a good lens compensate for a beginner camera ?

How's the battery life?
I have a 6300 and the battery life is terrible. The only consolation is that it's so small that my bag can easily carry the five extra batteries I need for a days worth of shooting.
