I think its really telling that the Exeggcute line is Psychic, since how else do a bunch of separate seeds make up one Pokemon? Clearly they are bonded in some strange way that physically unites them when they evolve. They do lose that context when they become Alolan Exeggutor though, figure that one out.

We complain about modern Pokemon designs not making sense, but even Gen 1 had an example of weird Pokemon with a pile of eggs that evolve into an ambulatory tree

perpetually frustrated by the way people insist on saying “oh they’re not actually eggs they’re seeds” like. their name is an egg pun. in most languages. there’s a half dozen of them. one is cracked and showing yolk. theyre eggs first and foremost, the seeds bit is secondary to their whole schtick
