It’s finally time to introduce “the Memory Tree,” my favorite tree in the world, a tree that I write about in my book How to Love a Forest. I often say that the Memory Tree and I “grew up together” — as I’ve been on this brutal and beautiful journey to heal my land (Bear Island) over the last 7 years, the Memory Tree has grown from a little sapling to a huge, beautiful tree. Now, every time I see the Memory Tree I see it as a marker of my time on this land, the changes I have effected on this ecosystem, and the legacies of a more beautiful world that I hope to leave for future generations. #stem #change #love #short

I really appreciate your videos. I love learning about trees and expanding my sense of place, but I also love the bigger messages you pull out of the small living things around us

I share your love for the outdoors. I have an ash that, i thought, was killed by the emerald ash borer. Instead of just cutting it down, I cut it back so that just the main trunk, about 12 feet high, remained. The next spring, it sprouted anew, and now appears completely healthy again. So thankful to still have my ash tree!

Hello, I have been collecting bumps off of trees and I have no idea what they are and nobody loves trees like I do. So I'd like to ask you what they are. Do you have an email?

Would introducing those ugly hens that eat tics be a bad thing. Guinea hens I think. Love nature but hate tics. When I was young they didnt have Lyme and all the other deseases
